Program Descriptions
Tiny Tots - Sundays 10am
Do you have a Toddler/Preschooler who seems keen on horses? Tiny Tots is an introductory 4 week course designed for youngsters. Your child will be introduced to horses through basic safety, light grooming, riding and lots of fun games to keep their minds busy! This engaging class is for children ages 2 to 5 years of age.
Class Length: 30 minutes Cost: $25/class + GST Junior Riders - Saturday 9:30am, Sunday 11am
Designed especially for kids ages 5 through 7, Junior Riders begins to explore basic horsemanship skills; grooming, tacking, leading & basic stable management. While still parented, these riders begin developing the correct position, balance, aids (cues to ask the horse to do something) through basic arena exercises & games. The slightly longer class time helps to expand attention spans, while still keeping within a reasonable time frame for young minds to stay interested and having fun!
Class Length: 1 hour Cost: $35/ class ** One parent per child required. Adults - Please inquire for appropriate class placement!
We have separate classes for our Adult riders. While the classes are separate from the children's classes, the levels listed to the right under "Kids & Teens" are the same. Adult classes are specifically designed to help with flexibility, dexterity, co-ordination, muscle memory & of course a good social get away, all while on horseback!

For riders who are ready to delve into the psychology, physiology and geometry of the horse. Riders who are invited to partake in this program work through both on the ground and in the saddle skills. The constant theme is creating better leadership for our horses. Leadership is built through correct timing, balance, understanding and consistency. To be considered for this program, you must have already completed a Level 2 or above in our regular program, demonstrate good work ethic and have a strong desire to better yourself as a Leader.
Semi-Private & Private Lessons
We offer semi-private (2 riders) and private lessons to students with their own horses or who are leasing. Smaller groups work well for many situations including working with young horses, specific training needs or goals, show ring preparation or just needing one on one to focus! These lessons are scheduled during daytime hours Monday through Friday, some evenings. Privates can be scheduled with Sonja or Jody.

Level 1 - Thursdays 5:30pm, Saturday 10:30am
Perfect for the brand new horse enthusiast or those who maybe rode "a long time ago". Level 1 takes you through all of the horse basics; safety, grooming, tacking, proper handling & body language. In the saddle you will explore concepts at the walk & trot (once you're ready!); correct riding position, proper cues, arena figures, relaxation & rythym and more!

For riders who have completed Level 1 or have the equivalent amount of experience from another horse adventure. Level 2 begins on horsemanship principles of horse psychology, more in depth herd behavior, basic health care & stable management. In the saddle, students will be putting more emphasis into the trot, working towards developing independent aids (cues to the horse), riding the bend, working with obstacles, balance, rythym & relaxation.

For the rider who is ready (or has been) cantering and has graduated Level 2 or equivalent experience. Level 3 begins exploring the concept of lateral versus longitudinal aids & movements. Dressage patterns & work over ground poles in preparation for jumping (if the rider wishes to do so) are introduced. In depth exploration of "riding the bend" and "riding the counter - bend" are taught.

For the Level 3 graduate or riders with equivalent experience & understanding of concepts. Level 4 takes the previous levels concepts and begins working towards completing the picture through achieving proper and true collection. Working up through the Training Scale (or pyramid) of classical riding is emphasized. We begin work over small fences and can teach up 2'3". Our Level 4 riders may also start showing off property with the show team with a leased horse.

Interested in a beginner or intermediate friendly Jumping class? Available on Thursday evenings, We will guide you safely through all of the in's and out's of beginning to jump. If you have your own horse, you are welcome to attend this lesson as your only lesson. Students riding in the CCE riding program, may add this jump class as a second lesson.
