Steven & Caitlin - Owners
Caitlin & Steve work as a team to get both spectrums of the business balanced. With their young family - sometimes this takes a bit of juggling!
Steve & Caitlin have two beautiful children: Jillian (2010) and Silas (2012). Caitlin started riding when she was 8 years old at a Stable east of Sherwood Park. The funny thing is, she didn`t even like horses at first! Actually she didn`t like much of anything, which didn`t surprise her parents. So her Mom & Dad continued to force her to go to lessons week after week and eventually the words, ``this is fun``, fell out of her mouth! She`s never looked back..... Caitlin was certified through CHA Level 2 English & Western in 2008 and more recently Silver Level Coach/Trainer/Rider in the Chris Irwin Train the Trainer Program (2012). She is a firm believer that the Teacher always needs a Teacher and is constantly seeking opportunities to further her skill not only as a Horsewoman and Instructor, but as a Mentor & Coach. Steven grew up in Fort McMurray and was actively involved in many sports growing up, but never horses! His first real exposure was Caitlin dragging him out to her farm. Steve was an active EMT out on the oil sites, but when presented with a different lifestyle and challenge, took the leap! He now looks after the maintenance side of the farm. You'll often find him doing fencing, making repairs, building new structures, feeding or sometimes looking after barns. He's hoping to learn how to drive a team of drafts this year and acquire his own horses to be able to do sleigh/wagon rides this year. Sue - Office Manager
Sue joined the team in January of 2012 after riding at CCE for just over a year.
Sue has come on board to manage all of the secretarial, accounting and office duties that we require as the centre gets bigger and busier. After 35 years at a bank, she was ready to retire. We find it quite comical that she thought life would slow down with the barn as a part time "job". Boy, was she wrong! Sue's helpful nature, organizational skills, willingness to pick up where others left off or fell short and find the good in each situation make her an awesome team member. She was able to fill a gap that Caitlin was no longer able to fill due to the growing nature of the business. Her enthusiasm in providing a system to the barn that would streamline all of the "business" requirements has been a blessing for CCE and for our clients. She owns a 12 year old Half Arabian mare, pictured here - Mya. The pair of them enjoy pleasure riding around the arena, on the trails and generally just spending time together. Sue & Mya are one of the few pairs at the barn that are western riders as well! |
Emma - Beginner Instructor, Barn Staff
Emma has been a part of Cadence Creek since it began in 2005. While they aren't related, you'll often hear her and Caitlin referencing to each other as family!
Emma began riding at 6 years old and has been involved with horses ever since. She made her show ring debut to the A-Circuit with her Arabian gelding Summer Heat in 2012. The pair had quite the show and created many fond memories that weekend! She is a Certified Silver Level Chris Irwin Trainer & Instructor! Emma teaches many of our beginner classes and is also a lead team member of our barn staff and Summer Camp Team. Her helpful & humble nature make her a favorite amongst our volunteers and Jr Staff. She is a role model for her peers and exemplifies qualities not common of girls her age. Her strong work ethic, morals & values are what has advanced her through the barn & work structure so quickly. Lynn - Barn Manager
Lynn has been involved with horses for over 50 years! She has worked in a variety of positions involving equines including grooming, riding, stable management and more. Her attention to detail is hard to measure up to!

Our Amazing Volunteers....
We have many young ladies who come and volunteer at the barn. Their enthusiasm is contagious and they sure do have a lot of fun! Our volunteers help with numerous tasks from stall cleaning & stable management, to ring assisting with lessons, to herd health days. The list is endless. We appreciate them all!
